Our Story:
Established in 1913, Empire Fish Company started as a company selling fish originating
from the midwest's Great Lakes and area waters to area restaurants.
In 1994, Neesvig's Inc., a business
entity of Meyer Food Service LLC, expanded its wholesale product offerings to include
fresh and frozen seafoods. The success of this expansion in product offerings led
to the purchase of Empire Fish Company by Meyer Food Service, LLC.
This new ownership has transformed Empire Fish Co. into a large-scale wholesale
distributor offering fresh and frozen seafoods originating from both the Great Lakes
and distant seas as well as other complimentary foodservice items.
Teaming with Neesvig's
Inc. as a strategic partner for production and distribution services, Empire
Fish Co. was able to streamline business processes and improve efficiencies by combining
their climate-controlled trucking fleet and distribution facilities to become a
one-stop shop for wholesale foodservice items.
To improve purchasing power and expand product offerings & availability, in
April of 2006, Empire Fish Co. joined the distinguished buying group Frosty Acres. Membership in this globally-acclaimed buying
group
has bolstered our company's purchasing power and helped us to carry out our
mission.
Today, Empire Fish Company brings the finest and freshest seafoods, meats and foodservice
items from all corners of the globe to institutions located throughout the midwest
through our distribution facilities in Windsor and Milwaukee, WI. Empire Fish also
offers the same great wholesale selections and prices to local consumers through
our retail market in Milwaukee, WI.
